Oh gosh the Redwall books. Brings back memories of reading those food passages and getting all hungry orz

I think out of those I read Redwall, Mattimeo, Salamandastron and Martin the Warrior.

In terms of what I've been reading lately: I recently read Treasure Island, because of the TV show Black Sails, which I loved.

Also, I'm starting a new job next month, and they gave me a book to read called Getting Naked, which is not, in fact, a commentary on burlesque, but which is more about being 'vulnerable' as a consultant. It's a decent read if you're into, idk, business things for business people.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

@Darken: Which version of FFX are you playing? IIRC The HD Remaster version gives you access to the Expert grid, which at the very least gives you a bit more freedom in which direction to take each character. Admittedly the concept as a whole hasn't aged very well, especially with the admin work involved.

I finished Spec Ops: The Line recently...the less I say about the game, the better, in case of spoilers, but overall a solid game. Sometimes I felt it was a bit too difficult but that's what I get for playing it on a PS4 instead of the PC....

Surprising probably no-one judging by the last couple of pages in this thread, I'm now starting a replay of FFVIII. Honestly pressing the R1 button at the right time during Renzokuken is one of my favourite experiences in video games

What I like about checking back on this site is seeing how little has changed and unfortunately I don't mean that in a good sense.

So where's the podcast Libby?

I miss the highs and lows of game development

Haha....my parents just got my brother and I video game consoles and left it at that. I can't imagine them having the time/energy to actively play games with me/take me to extracurricular activities/supervise extra curricular activities in addition to their (very demanding) day jobs.

I miss the highs and lows of game development

Alas, I'm at a point in my life where there are quite a few things I enjoy more than game dev.

I think I'll still be taking part in game jams/competitions every now and then, but I've pretty much abandoned the idea of working on a single project for several months/years.

Also, I'm probably gonna sound silly but:

played some 'pokemon' cards with my 6yo**.

Mondays: coach floor hockey for 6-9yo from 630-730, 10-13yo from 735-835
Tuesdays: join my kids at Taekwondo from 615-745
Wednesdays: take kid to singing class and kid2 to art class
Thursdays: join my kids at Taekwondo from 615-745

Is it normal for parents to do these many activities with their kids? I can't remember my parents ever being this invested in what I did outside of school.

Long time no see peeps. Back to reality after a year of working holiday in Australia. :( I miss Straya so much. Uluru, Queensland, Cairns, Darwin, NT...so many places to see, so little time! :'(

Tasmania still remains as my favorite road trip out of all the ones I did when I was there! The Great Ocean Road was fun too and the Grampians was the best hiking we did e-vah~

Oh and FUCK DO I MISS MELBOURNE T____T

Next time, maybe... Canada?? :D

Welcome back, stranger...Melbourne is pretty rad. I miss it too, although I didn't spend as much time there as I liked...

I'm trying to decide whether to stay in London working a job I hate in an city I like, versus moving to Manchester working a job I COULD like in a city I don't like.

Basically work-to-live versus live-to-work....
